It took a few years to sort myself out. I had a lot of medical help and wonderful recovery folk helping me to separate my alcoholism from other conditions. I don't see the people I used to drink with anymore. And new friendships are obviously not based around alcohol; It's really refreshing to not have it be all about drink. I signed up for two 5-Ks, and this was a really great way to get me motivated, she said, adding that the exercise has helped her take time to release the stress of being a working mom and also helped her sleep better at night. My back pain went away, too. I had low-energy days like everyone else, but I never wanted to quit. That never happened before. That was the best feeling--not having to force myself to follow through. Three generations of Michelle and Scott's family have benefited from lessons learned in sugar blocking, and they plan to stick with it! SUGAR BLOCKERS: BEYOND DIET THERE'S MORE TO THE EFFECTS of carbohydrates on your body than how many grams you eat. Much depends on what happens once glucose enters your bloodstream. The stage for America's epidemic of obesity and diabetes was set by changes in patterns of physical activity that resulted in an epidemic of insulin resistance. You will be able to better master those feelings of rapport and trust between you and those around you with the use of these methods and that can be highly powerful for you at the end of the day. All that matters is that you must ensure that you take the plunge and you make use of everything that you would need. N LP and Manipulation Finally, one last context that you will often find NLP in is the use of manipulation. This is one that is far more sinister than many of the others--it is for the sole benefit of the individual using the NLP in the first place.

NLP is meant to be a tool for helping and for better growth. It is designed to be a helpful tool. It is meant to ensure that, at the end of the day, you can better interact with those around you, and yet, some people will take the same principles that are so incredibly powerful and persuasive, and they will turn it into a big tool to control the people around them. This is a huge problem and is part of the reason that NLP has such a bad reputation already. R emember, NLP itself is not inherently a tool of manipulation. I really value authentic connection now; I can't be bothered with a lot of fluffing around and fakery. I just feel like I've wasted so much time in my life. Every time I was in trouble, which was all the time, I can trace it back to my use of alcohol. I made dumb decisions. I did stupid things. I let myself down and everyone else down. I have really strong feelings about alcohol and what it's taken from me. I can see that it takes everything away from you. It rips apart families, takes away self-esteem, takes away health, takes away money, takes away your choices in life. In article 11, you will learn how, by activating a particular type of muscle fiber called a slow-twitch fiber, you can, with minimal effort, target exercise specifically toward restoring insulin sensitivity and losing weight. In article 13, you will learn about newer sugar-blocking medications that not only prevent and treat diabetes but also produce significant and lasting weight loss in people with and without diabetes. EXERCISE: GETTING THE MOST BENEFIT WITH THE LEAST EFFORT THERE'S NO NEED TO PREACH--you know that exercise is good for you, not just for your body but also for your mind. Exercise is a natural antidepressant;

It relieves stress, calms your nerves, and improves your concentration and sleep. It arouses endorphins, your body's natural painkillers. If exercise were a drug, you couldn't keep people away from it. Considering that exercise makes us feel so good and is so good for us, why don't we do it? It was fun when we were kids, but it seems that as we age, we develop an aversion to it. It is not inherently bad or good--it is nothing more than a tool. The way that it is used will determine the end result and if someone else chooses to use this tool in a way that is harmful, that is a problem with the individual user rather than a problem with the techniques themselves. The Principles of NLP and Other Essential Information Before we start delving into more important information that will help prepare you to make use of the techniques that will be included within this article, you must first begin to understand the principles that guide NLP. These are a combination of the core concepts that you will see repeatedly throughout the article as well as the four key pillars that will frame the way in which you interact with NLP in the first place. The pillars themselves are quite powerful and they will help you to understand what the objectives behind your NLP usage should be. The concepts that you will be introduced to as well will show you precisely what it is that you will be targeting to better deal with the problems that you are facing. T his article is highly focused on further background information that will build the foundations for what you do. It is important for you to recognize the importance of what you are doing within this article so you can better understand everything that is going on. When it comes right down to it, you should make sure that you understand all of these concepts before you progress. To me it's soul-sucking. I constantly try to remember to be grateful, and I don't usually have to try. I'm one of those really annoying morning people now, skipping around. I never used to be. I was like something out of The Walking Dead in the morning, feeling like crap all the time.

Now that I don't feel like that, I'm just so happy. You know, I don't regret for a second giving it away and I never want to touch it again. No downsides I was in the middle of writing this article when my social-media accounts lit up. Not miserable. Exercise sounds good in the abstract--we remember how good it made us feel--but when it comes to actually doing it, all of a sudden we're struck by pangs of lethargy. If grueling sessions of huffing and puffing don't appeal to you, you'll like what I'm about to tell you: Believe it or not, you have muscles in your body that don't cause fatigue when you exercise them. If you have a hard time believing that, think about your diaphragm, the muscle under the rib cage that powers your breathing. How tired does it get? It works continuously day and night, and you're not even aware of it. The reason your diaphragm never fatigues is that it's powered by a special kind of muscle fiber that does not run out of energy when you exercise it. Let me explain. SLOW-TWITCH FIBERS You have two distinct kinds of muscle fibers in your body: type I, or slow-twitch, fibers, and type II, or fast-twitch, fibers. Both contain tiny power plants called mitochondria that use oxygen to replenish the energy they need to do their work. If you cannot understand and remember these principles, you are going to struggle in later areas in this article and that can be a major problem for most people. Spend the time to really understand what is going on here. Make sure that you recognize what you are doing and how you are doing it. This is crucial for you to ensure that, at the end of the day, you will be successful in your endeavors. T he Pillars of NLP

Before we dive in, you must be aware that NLP, like any other concept or therapy, is built upon a foundation of background information. These are the concepts that will support what is going on--they give the field itself its focus, narrowing down what is being attempted. NLP is no different than any other field of thought or method of therapy--it is focused highly on several key concepts that, when they come into play, are able to highly guide the way in which you see the world. They influence the ways that you focus on what you see and what you do. They make you understand what is going on and ensure that you get what it is that NLP really wants to encourage. Not bereft. Not boring. Not like you're missing out. Not like the fun has stopped. None of that. Better, happier, more content, less miserable, healthier, more connected, more well. Ladies, it's a fact. I realise there's been quite a lot of gritty talk in this article thus far. Disconnection, vulnerability, assault and trauma--they're not exactly happy-happy-joy-joy topics, are they? Cancer, assault, targeting and manipulation--these are all confronting topics, I get that. The difference is that slow-twitch fibers have many times more mitochondria than fast-twitch fibers do. Having lots of mitochondria allows them to use oxygen to replenish virtually all the energy they use as they are working. Because they don't build up an oxygen debt, they don't have to rest. In contrast, fast-twitch fibers contain few mitochondria. They are built to function for short bursts of intense activity without oxygen.
