Since astigmatism is caused by tension in the muscles around the eyes, the best way to correct it is to release the excess tension. It's all that and much more. Consciousness is the brain's most mysterious characteristic. So mysterious that it attracted the attention of theologians and philosophers long before scientists got interested. The true nature of consciousness has been fiercely debated for centuries, especially since the seventeenth, when Rene Descartes identified his famous mind-body dualism. On one hand, I think, therefore I am: consciousness undeniably exists. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to have a physical existence, cannot be described or observed except by the brain that experiences it. as was often the case with things that were hard to explain, it could only be a supernatural gift. The proximity of consciousness to the concept of a soul has ended up cloaking it in taboo. Scientists have long been reticent about examining this topic in depth - also because it's impossible to study it in a lab. It has neither mass nor speed, so cannot be measured. Sit comfortably in a quiet place. Close your eyes if you are comfortable doing so. Be aware of the sounds and the smells around you. Slowly breathe in as you count, 1, 2, 3. Slowly breathe out as you count 1, 2, 3. Continue breathing like this. Feel the breath going deep into your belly. Create a picture in your mind of what you would like to see if you could change something that disturbs you in the world (examples of what you might picture are hungry children eating healthy food; Focus on the details of your picture.

Relax your body and breathe as you focus on your picture. From that place, you're able to move forward and make decisions, have experiences, and feel emotions from a higher vibrational set point. It is a form of pre-paving. Preparing your vibrational atmosphere before the manifestations or conditions arrive. Your motion forward is inevitable. You can't help it! But you are not here to merely go through the motions. You are here to experience outrageous joy! You quite literally have the ability to mold and shape the various areas of your life based on how you choose to think, believe, and feel! You are the creator of your reality! According to the universal laws of quantum physics, the nervous system is basically a transmitter that sends out signals into the environment, and these waves of vibration attract similar waves that draw us to certain people and circumstances. This false concept is reinforced by all the so-called gurus who promise quick results with the minimum of effort. Nothing is wrong with you. If you're struggling, that's probably because it's part of the process. Fortunately, they are many things you can do to improve your results. However, you still need to follow a specific process and do the work--there is no way around it. A short while ago, I came across a sales pitch that made me cringe. It was one of those pitches written by expert copywriters who are selling you the dream that you can make tons of money without doing much work. The main message was that you can make $10,000 a month in passive income by writing short articles. Just one article written over the weekend could potentially make you $10,000 per month for years to come.

Yes, that's right, you read that correctly. In the following exercise we will explore a couple of ways you can quickly identify which of your muscles are tense, and then begin to relax them. First, look at the astigmatic mirror or the circles above and identify your current state. Try looking at the chart from several distances. For some people there is astigmatism at certain distances only. Find out if your astigmatism is more pronounced close to or far away. If so, this will be valuable information later on when you want to check your progress. Note that the astigmatic mirror will only be accurate within the field of your clear vision. Outside the range of your natural vision the chart is not reliable. However, as your vision continues to improve, the chart will stay accurate. As you exercise, check the astigmatic mirror from time to time to monitor your progress. One who didn't shy away was Francis Crick, who jointly discovered the double helix of the DNA and who, during the last years of his life, led a scientific investigation into the mystery of consciousness. In his article The Astonishing Hypothesis, which he wrote at the age of 78, he suggests the astonishing hypothesis' - thata person's mental activities are entirely due to the behaviour of nerve cells, glial cells, and the atoms, ions, and molecules that make them up and influence them'. Nowadays, this is no longer surprising. Body and mind seem like two separate entities, but have actually been proved to be one and the same. Even so, the mystery remains impenetrable. According to the Australian philosopher David Chalmers, the consciousness dilemma should be divided into a simple problem' (how the brain can produce memory, attention or thought) and ahard problem' (how one and a half kilograms of biological jelly can transform electrochemical information into qualities, like the yellowness' of yellow or the sourness of a lemon). But are we sure that we need a complicated brain like ours to generate any level of consciousness? It is now widely accepted that primates that are evolutionarily closer to Homo sapiens (chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orangutans) possess a certain degree of self-awareness, and the same is true for mammals such as dolphins and elephants. And there is more.

In 2012, a prominent group of neuroscientists signed the Cambridge Declaration, which concludes:The absence of a neocortex does not appear to preclude an organism from experiencing affective states. Breathe in and out as you count, 1, 2, 3. Sit quietly. Imagine different ways to make that picture become real. When you are ready, breathe and focus on your picture again. Open your eyes. Write down or share your ideas with someone. As you can see, there are many ways to approach relaxation with your child. We hope at least one of the above scripts resonated with you and if not, that you will continue to explore different techniques until you find one that does. The benefits to your child may be immediately obvious in how she handles challenging or upsetting situations. Or, you may find that these exercises are creating a foundation for her to feel more relaxed in general when going through her daily life or approaching a new situation. Put simply, what you focus on, you feed. And that energy attracts more of the same. So, choosing to feel grateful often, will tune you in to receiving more to feel grateful for. The field of neuroplasticity tells us that our brains are malleable, continuing to evolve as we respond to new experiences. This gives us the ability to create new patterns of thinking based on the situation. repetition for new connections of the brain to follow. So, practicing the new habit of gratitude will allow the brain to form new pathways, thus making it easier to feel grateful more often! Okay, so the science is there, you're on board? How do you leverage this power in your day to day life, and put it into motion?

You do this by meditating, creating a list of appreciation and positive aspects, and looking for things here and now that feel good when you look at them. Amazing, isn't it? I wonder why I've bothered spending years writing articles when all I needed to do was to write a few short articles over the weekend. This is a perfect example of someone pitching you a terrible model of reality that will never lead you to any tangible positive results. If you buy into this idea that you can make $10,000 a month from publishing a few short articles, you will start thinking something is wrong with you when you fail to achieve the results you were promised. Now you will inevitably have unrealistic expectations as you get started, but the key is to: Maintain a long-term focus, Patience is critical because to achieve any worthy goal requires a great deal of time and effort. In fact, this is how you know a goal is worth pursuing in the first place. You can't expect to design your dream career, build fulfilling relationships or become financially independent without putting in the work, can you? So if it's hard and progress is slow, that's okay. You will notice that the darker lines begin to even out or the lines will begin to appear to be of the same length all around. This exercise is designed to gently loosen the muscles of your eyes before attempting more strenuous exercises. The objective is to induce flexibility in the muscles. If you find this exercise is painful then go slowly. Don't attempt the Tibetan wheel exercise before you can do this exercise very comfortably. Place your thumbnail straight ahead in front of your eyes. Your thumb should be less than the width of your hand from your face. Some may not see the thumbnail clearly. This is all right since we only want to exercise the muscles.
