Learning what to look for and how to decipher this type of communication involves fine-tuning a skill that each of us already possesses. You can almost quickly profile anybody just by assessing their nonverbal communication skills. This article will teach you about the basics of nonverbal communication and what each body part/movement means. W hat Does Nonverbal Communication Mean? Before we dive into the details of body language, what does nonverbal communication actually mean? This term defines the different ways that people can communicate without the use of words. This involves things that people do (or do not do) that send messages about what they think and feel. People typically are very careful when it comes to sharing information with other people. They will make an effort to choose who and when they will share certain information with, but their bodies will give them away if it is not in line with what they are saying. It was going in a direction that was quite bad so I stopped altogether, cold turkey. I found a job then, as a teacher aide. I haven't touched alcohol now for twenty-odd years, largely because of the memory of my father and my mother. still resonates in the back of my mind. I'm 71 now. Facial Expressions The first type of body language cue I will be teaching you about are facial expressions. From the time we are infants, we are able to see and read facial expressions. Actually, this is not surprising, considering that nuts are full of healthy stuff, including protein, MUFAs, omega-3 fatty acids, and fiber, and they contain little starch or sugar. They are the perfect snack for someone trying to cut carbs: They'll satisfy your hunger and provide vital nutrients, and they won't raise your blood sugar or insulin levels even a bit. Nuts also have sugar-blocking powers. A few handfuls as an appetizer before a starch-containing meal will reduce your after-meal blood sugar and insulin levels. Learning to control your own facial expressions will allow you to convey the message you want to deliver, whether you actually mean it or not. On the other hand, learning to analyze them on other people will allow you to get a more accurate read on how this person is feeling and what thoughts are going on in their mind. Eye Contact The next type of body language we will look at is visual communication. The eyes are usually the place we look when we are having a face to face interaction with someone. The eyes can tell so much about one's thoughts and feelings. The actions they take, such as how long they will hold our gaze if they will even make eye contact at all, or how often they are blinking can give us information about what is going on behind them. We don't want them in our community--they're preying on the weak and the poor. When I left work I really needed something else to do other than be in the house and quilt.
